In Briefs

  |   Play   |   No comment

So I’m just about to go into rehearsals for Briefs which opens on the 29th April at The Waterloo East Theatre.

I’m very excited because it’s all new writing and very funny new writing at that.

My piece is called ‘Chugging for Kittens’ written by Angela Clarke and in brief (excuse the pun) it focuses on three street based ‘charity muggers’ raising money for Cats. It raises vital questions regarding¬†who they are, what they do and how far they’ll really go to get money for those little fluffy ones.

I’m playing a Lithuanian Lesbian – need I say more……..

Appearing alongside seven other plays, Briefs will be a seriously funny and entertaining evening.

That’s all for now but new headshots coming soon – would be interested to see what you think!

Masked Up for the Gods!

  |   Theatre   |   No comment

I just wanted to post a little something about my last show Vervain Theatres The Bacchae.

The production was in full mask which made it very tough going rehearsal wise but incredibly rewarding as an actor.

I played the Chorus leader which meant I had several speeches all over 2 pages long, again another challenge.

What I loved about it the process was it thoroughly flexed all my creative muscles, learning new skills and remembering old. In a way it made me fall back in love with theatre in the traditional sense. My passion still lies in new writing, helping to create pieces which make statements about the world today. However, working on something so ancient as Euripides you see the foundation of theatre today in the making. Comedy and Tragedy interlocked to hit a powerful message home without putting of the watcher.

Clever stuff and not just for the academic fuddie duddies.

The Legacy

  |   Play   |   No comment

My new play ‘The Legacy’ by Angela Clarke is debuting at the Tristan Bates Theatre at 3pm on the 16th & 17th of December 2014. The Cast (myself, Lucinda Westcar and Ray Bullock Jnr) and the Director (Michael Beigel) are raring to present this topical comedic show to the masses. The promotional image has also just been finalised and looks wonderful. (Photo by Ben Broomfield) Tickets are only ¬£5 too so an economical way to experience the very best in cutting edge theatre at the very beginning of its theatrical journey. Website link is here I can’t wait and hope to see some familiar faces there!
